YOUR PROJECT - STEP BY STEP

Hiring me to record your voice job is easy. Here’s how it goes…

1. Contact Form
First, request a custom demo and/or free quote. Let me know the length of your script in words, planned usage (i.e. national TV, local radio, Internet only), whether you’d like to direct the session live, and your time zone. You can also give me direction on tone, pacing and accent, if you like.

2. Custom Demo
Next, if you’ve requested a custom demo, I record a portion of your script – say around 100 words – and email it to you, along with a quote for the total project. Once you approve the quote/demo, you then email me your final script and directions, including the file format you prefer, such as mp3, wav or aiff.

3. Review
I may correct any typos I find and make suggestions for any changes I feel would improve the flow or communication of your script. (I’m a professional copywriter, so some of my clients –  especially those for whom English is a second language – welcome this input.)

4. Recording

I record your project. You can let me record alone, as many clients do, or direct the session live via Source Connect, ISDN or Skype.

5. Audio Editing
Next, I edit the sound file (unless you prefer to) to remove any unwanted takes, clean up any microphone clicks, and remove breaths, if required. (This editing process may take up to two or three times as long as the recording process itself.)

6. Upload Files
I then email a link to you via yousendit.com, which makes it easy for you to download large files to your computer quickly, and review my work.

7. Pickup Session
The price I quote for your job generally includes a free “pickup” recording session for any small changes you might like to make after the initial recording is complete – perhaps altering the way a word is pronounced or emphasized. For extensive changes, and particularly if you decide to rewrite the script or make substantial additions, I charge an additional fee of US $75 per pickup session.

8. Invoicing
Once you receive the final voice over and are happy with it, I invoice you.

9. Payment
My preferred payment methods are PayPal or wire transfer/direct bank deposit. If you choose PayPal, I’ll send a Pay Pal Payment Request to the email address of your choice. Or you can use the PayPal button on the bottom right hand corner of my Home page. I can also email you a Word document invoice for your records (including bank details if you opt for wire transfer.)

10. Terms and Trust
Many voice talents require payment up front as a security before beginning a voice job. I am blessed to work with clients I trust, who generally pay for my services within one week of successful completion of a project, and no later than 30 days from the Invoice/Payment Request date.
